We are thrilled to announce that we are entering the piloting stage of our S.P.E.A.K. UP Prevention curriculum for K-12th grade. We will be working with multiple schools to implement our train-the-trainer model. If you have connections to schools who may be interested in joining us to pilot these trainings please contact us.

The Selah Way Foundation understands the importance of evidence-based research, outcomes and measurements. We are proud to announce our partnership with Yale University and Michigan State University to provide outcomes within our Prevention Pillar.

Prevention Stories Come To Life In Five Short Films

Untitled design-2.png

Our team has written five short films which will be incorporated into our Prevention curriculum so that we are not only telling students about how to stay safe, but we are showing them exactly how exploitation and recruitment can happen to kids just like them. The scenarios depicted in the film include:

  • Teens in Care (i.e. foster care) and how social media, false promises and friending or familial recruiting can lead to exploitation

  • A coach who uses his position of influence and authority to exploit an athlete on his football team

  • A youth pastor who abuses a girl in his youth group/worship team

  • A child who experiences domestic violence and sexual abuse at home and is recruited into a gang

  • A girl who is recorded being raped at a house party and it is later used to "sextort" and control her

Each of these scenarios is, unfortunately, inspired by true stories which we have encountered multiple times working with youth.

We will be screening these films at the Orlando Film Festival  at the Wyndham International Resort (International Drive). We will share the films and have Q&A on Saturday, May 22 at 12:00 PM. We would be honored if you joined us for a first screening of this project! Please let us know if you'd like to attend.

We also captured these images from our set last week. Enjoy the sneak peak of what is sure to be a powerful series for our youth!
